Well-known mountain resort in the Chamonix valley, only 8
km from Chamonix. Wonderful view of the Mont-Blanc massif.

Numerous other entertainments and sport facilities at Chamonix.
The village is a blend of ancient and modern. The skiing
is mostly demanding, with some fantastic pistes and over 30 off-piste runs
requiring a guide.
Argentire in summer:
Cable car "Grands Montets", hiking, mountaineering.
Argentire in winter:
Cable car, cable cabin, 3 drag lifts, ski school,
children's ski school, cross country ski trail. Combined with the ski region
of Chamonix Mont Blanc there are 41 mountain lifts and 150 km of ski runs.
Access:
Argentire is one of the
easiest resorts in the Alps to reach; despite its high altitude skiing the
resort itself is not terribly high and is close to the Mont Blanc Tunnel so
there is a four lane road running right up to Chamonix which is always well
maintained. The driving time from Calais is about 8 hours without stops.
The resort also boasts probably the best rail connections of any ski resort
outside Japan, with a TGV high speed link via Saint Gervais travelling at
around 170 mph (270 kph). It's possible to catch the TGV 'Snow
Special' in Paris on a Friday evening and be in the resort at just after
11pm.
There are bus connections from Geneva. Geneva is the closest
international airport, only 96 km (60 miles) north west, a 95 minute drive.
Low-cost airlines fly to Chambery (90 miles) and Lyon (140 miles).
