Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland is reached
by good roads from Interlaken, 12 miles away. It sits below the imposing
North face of the Eiger, amid some of the most impressive mountain scenery
in the world. One of the earliest winter sports resorts, it's a bustling
small town with plenty to do in summer and winter. The town has an excellent
variety of cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as shops of all kinds.

There's an excellent network of cog railways, lifts and cable
cars that take you all over the Jungfrau ski region. So whether it's winter skiing
or summer walking or biking, this area has it all.
In summer: canoeing and river rafting. Tennis (6 outdoor courts),
riding, fitness course, fishing (permit required), paragliding, summer toboggan
run, 725 m long. 300 km of walking paths, mountain walks, mountain tours, climbing.
100 km of bicycles paths, 100 km of mountain bike tracks, with bicycles and mountain
bikes for hire. Children's playground.
In winter: snowboard piste, snow park, halfpipe. Ski school (downhill,
snowboard school), children's ski school, ski kindergarten. 30 km cross country
ski tracks total, 80 km winter walking paths. 6 toboggan-runs. Ice rink, natural
ice rink, artificial ice rink, outdoor and indoor curling. Ski bus.
The Jungfrau region comprises the ski areas of Grindelwald, Wengen
and Murren.
