Klosters is just a few kilometres from
Davos, and the two
resorts are linked. The village is old and attractive, and is far removed
from the reputation it's gained through various members of the UK royal
family holidaying there. In fact the skiing is excellent at all levels.
Klosters Platz is the main community and is centred on the
railway station and the Gotschna cable-car, which gives access to the
Parsenn, with links to Davos. Klosters Dorf is a quiet hamlet at the bottom
of the Madrisa lift system. The two parts of the resort are connected by a
regular bus service. Trains between Klosters and Davos are included in the
lift pass.
Apres ski is mainly centred around quiet and pleasant
bars, and tends to be expensive. There are a couple of famous restaurants in
the town, which need to be booked in advance, so you can eat like royalty,
or perhaps you'd prefer a pizza at Alberto's.
