The various districts of La Grande Plagne: Plagne, Plagne-Village,
Aime 2000 and Plagne Bellecote, are distributed over a plateau between
Chambery and Aosta, surrounded by glaciers. The different area are all
linked by bus. Access via Aime (18 km). Railway station: Aime, bus service.

Access:
La Plagne is 149km (97
miles) from Geneva airport and is linked by a ski bus service. There is also
a bus link to Lyon airport, 180km (113 miles) away and to Chambery.
Rail services operate to Aime, 5km (3 miles) from the high villages within
the resort and Plagne Montalbert. TGV trains operate from Paris in a
little over 4 hours and there are also overnight sleepers. A rail
service to nearby Bourg St Maurice station also operates weekly in the
winter from London through the Channel Tunnel.
For Montchavin and les Coches skiers should use Landry station and for
Champagny en Vanoise, Motiers. A shuttle bus service operates around
La plagne's various villages during the day and part of the night, it is not
included in the lift ticket however.
Driving time from Calais is about 9 hours not counting stops. Take the A6
from Paris to Lyon then to Chambery on the A43 then Albertville on the A430,
followed by the N90 dual-carriageway to Motiers. Continue on the N90 to Aime
and then the road to la Plagne. For Plagne Montalbert take the road for
Longefoy from Aime and for Montchavin les Coches continue for 7km (4 miles)
on the N90 beyond Aime to the Landry turn-off then follow the signs to
the village.
La Plagne in summer
25 tennis courts, 2 heated swimming pool, riding, 70 km
hikes, grass-skiing, summer skiing on the Bellecote glacier (3200 m), 7 lift
facilities.
La Plagne in winter
Purpose built ski resort, ideal for beginners and
intermediates with door-stop skiing and some runs for advanced skiers. There
are 100 lifts covering 200 km of ski pistes: 1 cable car, 6 cable cabins, 27
chair lifts and 66 drag lifts. Glacier skiing. 45 km of cross country
skiing. Ice skating, swimming pool, hang gliding, tobogganing.
