This lively mountain resort is situated on a sunny plateau
of the Arves mountain range, 80 km south-east of Chambery and 17 km above St
Jean de Maurienne (station, direct link with the TGV, station linked by
shuttle). Although not pretty, there's plenty to do and some great skiing.
There are 14 apartment buildings, some of which have 19 floors, linked by a
shopping gallery (supermarkets, sports shops, restaurants, discos, bars,
post office, doctor, chemist, banks).
Le Corbier with its "P'tits Montagnards" is perfect for children: creche for
children 6 months to 3 years, 3 childrens clubs for those 4 to 15 years. In
summer, there is on site childrens entertainment. In winter, there is apres
ski and evening entertainment for the children and adults. Cinema, games
rooms etc.

Heated swimming pool, tennis, table tennis, gymnasium,
horse riding, excursions, mountain hiking, go karting, artificial ice-rink,
archery, petanque. Mountain biking, rock climbing, team sports, hiking on
glacier, para-gliding, hang-gliding. Childrens games park. Small train (from

Le Corbier in winter
The large ski area of Corbier-La Toussuire-St Jean d'Arves-St
Sorlin d'Arves-Les Bottieres is known as Sybelles and with analtitude of
1550-2600 metres, it enjoys good snow. With a total of 58 ski runs over 180
km it is suitable for all levels of skier. Free for children less than 5 and
those older than 75 years. There are 60 ski guides, a children's nursery for
those 3-6 years. 18 km of cross country ski trails. Ski runs go right to the
foot of the apartment buildings. Artificial ice skating rink, slalom run,
para-ponting, skidoos, nature treks with snow shoes. 33 snow cannons.
