Les Arcs,
in the heart of the Tarantaise, consists of 3 connected districts,
plus the valley town of Bourg St Maurice. Les Arcs is a resort made
for cross country as well as downhill skiing and the architecture
has been adapted to fit into the surroundings. The resort is car-free,
parking is at the entrance of the resort.

- Bourg St Maurice is a genuine mountain town with
plenty for everyone to do off the slopes, and links to all the major
resorts of the Haute Tarentaise. A funicular takes you to Arc 1600 in
just 7 minutes.
- Arc 1600: Essentially a family resort, it is the
easiest to reach.
- Arc 1800: A bustling resort on a natural sun terrace
on the sun terrace, with the three villages Le Charvet, Les Villards
and Charmettoger.
- Arc 2000: the sporting resort with its kilometre
long ski-runs, in the heart of the skiing area. Compulsory car park
(extra). Private cars are only allowed to the apartments to load luggage.
Access by TGV, railway station Bourg-St-Maurice and cable railway or
Route nationale 90 up to Albertville.

Access:
The roads which were built for the Olympic Games make access to Bourg Saint
Maurice very easy. Les Arcs is 150km (93 miles) from both Lyon and
Geneva international airports. There is a motorway to Albertville, then
dual carriageway to Moutiers, then the RN90 to Bourg Saint Maurice. The
drive from Calais takes about 9 hours not counting stops.
Les Arcs is reached by a wide mountain road. Avoid driving to and from the
resort on Saturdays, especially in the high season. Only pedestrians
are allowed in the resorts. There are free outdoor car-parks and paying
indoor ones in Arcs 1600 and 1800. At Arc 2000 there's a free car-park
at Pr-St-Esprit (5 km from the resort) with free shuttles running every
hour till 7:00 p.m. Paying outdoor and indoor car-parks in the resort.
Bourg St Maurice is linked to the high speed rail network and a funicular
runs from the rail station in the town up to Arc 1600 in 7 minutes (a free
inter-resort shuttle links 1600 to 1800 and 2000).
Bourg St Maurice is served by direct TGV from Paris to in 4 h 40, departing
every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and by Eurostar Train via the Channel
Tunnel from London (8 hours on Saturdays).
Les Arcs is part of the enormous Paradiski Area with La
Plagne and Bourg St Maurice. Because of the size of the resort and the larger
area, it suits all grades of skiers, and has excellent ski schools.
