It's easy to reach Switzerland using the European motorway network. The ski areas of the Bernese Oberland and the French-speaking west of Switzerland are best approached from the Channel ports via Rheims, Dijon and Geneva. whilst the Eastern half of the country is easily reached from Rheims, Strasbourg, Basle and Zurich.
The Swiss are adept at keeping their roads free from snow, but in case of a heavy fall while you are travelling we strongly suggest you carry a set of snow chains. Make sure you practice putting them on before you encounter difficult conditions.
