Perched on a sunny plateau
Verbier is a large bustling resort with a traditional mountain atmosphere.
Popular and fashionable, the resort boasts designer shops, loads
of restaurants, lively bars and top clubs. The resort is best for
intermediates and advanced skiers, with a vast choice of runs and
some great off-piste guided skiing. Boarders are well-served, especially
with the fabulous Sunrise Park and more off-piste opportunities. |
The 4 Vallees ski domain, of which it part, is huge, high
and generally challenging. Gondolas rise from Verbier's main street and
gradually rise to the Fort glacier.
Non-skiing activities are too many to mention them all,
but include snowmobiling, paragliding, heli-skiing, mountaineering, ice
climbing, snow shoe walks and tobogganing. The sports centre has an indoor
pool, indoor ice rink and Slide Sensations, offering snow cross, tubes,
snow karts mud bikes and general fun.
