Villars is the main resort
in the Alpes Vaudoises. The village has a lively atmosphere, beautiful
surroundings and excellent facilities. The Gstaad Super Ski area
is reached by railway or cable car from the centre and encompasses
Alpe des Chaux, Leysin and the Les Diablerets glacier. |
The skiing is varied, with something for all levels, and
although there are not many expert runs, there are plenty of off-piste opportunities.
The skiing is particularly good for beginners and intermediates.
The village is old, with traditional buildings. There's
always plenty going on, and indoor activities include tennis, a swimming
pool and an ice rink. There are plenty of restaurants, mainly in hotels,
and a handful of bars.
